Bird watching in Morocco Day trip : Desert Sparrows, enjoy the diverse bird life the High Atlas mountains host. The best seasons for avian observation are the spring and fall migrations. Starting in March, and continuing through May is the most avifauna time of year. Let us show off the High Atlas area and the beautiful bird life that calls this place home.
Itinerary :
Marrakech – Asni - Imlil - Aremd
Approximately 3 hours driving, 2 – 4 hours walking
Elevation: 2000m
Start your day with an air conditioned coach transfer from your Riad in Marrakech to the beautiful town of Asni. Set in the foothills of the High Atlas mountains this first stop is at a lower elevation giving life to much different spices of bird than our second destination of Imlil. A short walk from Imlil through the beauty of the High Atlas Mountains will bring us to Aremd, where we will break for a picnic lunch and continue to enjoy the mountain birds that call this region home. From Aremd we walk back to Imlil where our coach transfer will take us back to Marrakech.
